This is a custom designed star topper for a mini tree to go in the yard display. The custom star was designed in TinkerCAD with 5 individual chambers and 5 holes for 12mm LEDs to snap into. The separate chambers allow the star to show different colors in the segments.

One of the projects for the light show was to replace a standard LED in a Really Big Bulb from Home Depot with controllable LEDs. The replacement LEDs are snapped into a 3D printed plate and attached inside the large bulb. Connecting wires are attached to the LEDs so they can connect to a controller.

In order to create the layouts for light shows in the program xLights part of the process is having the models properly arranged. To complete the layout correctly it required designing my house in SketchUp to create a 3D model to then import into xLights.
